KEEN is on a mission to save kids, and we need your help. We are participating in Extra Life for the 5th year in a row! Extra Life is a gamer-based fundraiser that started in 2008 to support the Stollery Children’s Hospital.
Extra Life is a huge worldwide celebration of the social impact of gamers of all kinds, from video games to board games and tabletop RPG’s!
We hope that you’ll find it in your heart to support our efforts with a donation that will go directly to the Stollery.

Why did you want to participate in Extra Life?
I love Extra Life every year. It’s awesome way for our team to connect, build culture, and have a great time, all for an amazing cause. The Stollery is a truly exceptional facility that some many children and families benefit from. As a parent with a child with hearing loss, the Stollery has been a huge part of my daughters journey.
What game or activity are you most looking forward to?

I would say i’m a moderately levelled up game nerd that likes specific genres.
What is your favourite memory of Extra Life?
Reflecting on having the privilege of participating in Extra Life with the KEENers for the past 4 years, I can truly say it’s one of my most favourite days. I look forward to it every year.
What game or activity are you most looking forward to?
Binging the Pokemon Sword Crown Tundra Expansion.

What’s your gamer experience?
Donkey and Q*Bert on Colecovision started my fascination with video games that has lasted throughout the years. In what other entertainment medium can you be the main character, determine what he/she does and ultimately affect the end story? Also, shooting and blowing up stuff is pretty cool too!
What is your favourite memory of Extra Life?
Having been a part of KEEN’s Extra Life since the beginning, its always awesome to see the amazing supporters through donations, sponsoring and day-of visits.
What game or activity are you most looking forward to?
The 5hr day-nap after the 24hrs

Why did you want to participate in Extra Life?
Extra Life means spending 24 hours with the KEEN fam while also helping save kids! Why would I not want to participate in that?
What game or activity are you most looking forward to?
All the horror video games!

I can hold my own when it comes to the classics like Donkey Kong, Mario Kart, etc.

Gaming, raising money for a good cause and hanging out with awesome people — sign me up!
What game or activity are you most looking forward to?
Donkey Kong (1, 2, 3) and Ring Fit Adventure!

What’s your gamer experience?
I have dedicated a large portion of my holidays delivering packages and building roads on Death Stranding aiming for 100%. Suffice to say, I have a lot of patience to be able to game for long periods.
What is your favourite memory of Extra Life?
I wanted to play video games but there was a deceivingly difficult puzzle to assemble and I have dedicated 19 hours of my time to finish it. In conclusion, that was the only lasting memory I have retained.

What’s your gamer experience?
I don’t have much gamer experience, I’ve never been good at video games so I generally avoid them. But I can get by in Mario Kart, NBA 2K and Madden. I’m really good at Scrabble though!!
Why did you want to participate in Extra Life?
It’s a fun way to bond with your coworkers. Plus there’s always good food, great memories and it’s all for a good cause.
What game or activity are you most looking forward to?
The giant puzzle was surprisingly addicting.

What’s your gamer experience?
Extensive. In my youth I was drafted to compete competitively against the kids in my neighbourhood. But after a number of injuries, broken cartridges, and failed rebuilds, I decided to hang up the cords and entered into an early retirement. Since then I’ve participated casually in unofficial local tournaments and captained a few beer leagues. While my days of high-impact video gaming may have come to a close, I’ve enjoyed slipping into the stakes world of GM sports sims.
Why did you want to participate in Extra Life?
I have fond memories of pulling all-nighters with the gang crowded around the dull glow of the ‘Tube.’ Just 24 hours of good ol’ button mashin’, pop swillin’, and cheat code enterin’. I suppose all of that late-night training has lead me to this very moment. And I’m ready to return from retirement, put down the GM sims, and fight the overnight fight once more!
